THE AGENCY OVERVIEW

Myron F. Steves & Company, or simply Myron Steves, is a Managing General Agent/Wholesaler. There are two divisions, Property and Casualty and Healthcare.

The Property & Casualty Division operates primarily in Texas serving independent agents, but increasingly operates in other states. It has binding authority with eligible surplus lines companies as well as standard lines (admitted) companies. It has brokerage relationships to place larger premium/complex accounts that fall outside binding authority guidelines. There are specialized underwriting teams for:

The Healthcare Division is a national intermediary serving the healthcare industry. It designs, places and manages insurance programs for hospital and healthcare clients. Its core business is placing hospital professional liability coverage excess of large self-insured retentions. Its capabilities include:

Myron Steves is one office with four locations. Houston, San Antonio, Dallas and Austin. Houston is headquarters. Healthcare, Information Technology, Claims, Policy Auditing, Customer Care (policy issuance, endorsements, etc.), Compliance, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Premium Finance, etc. are in Houston. Offices in San Antonio, Dallas, and Austin are Business Development offices with marketing and underwriting teams.

Myron Steves earned the Certified Managing General Agency (CMGA) designation in 1997 and has maintained the designation each year since then. The CMGA is an agency designation conferred by the AAMGA Education Foundation and earned by accumulating an average of eight hours of education per employee each year.

Myron Steves has relationships with over 70 admitted and non-admitted companies. Among our leading markets are Scottsdale, Lloyd's and London Companies, National Indemnity, Essex, First Specialty, Burlington, American Reliable, Chubb, Admiral, Colony, U.S. Liability, Carolina Casualty, United National, St. Paul Travelers, Hartford, Zurich, and Zenith.

Myron Steves is licensed as a managing general agent, surplus lines agent, and general lines property & casualty agent under the laws of the State of Texas. Myron Steves is a Texas partnership composed of three corporations: Buddy Steves, Inc.; Frederick B. Steves, Inc.; and Teresa S. Skinner, Inc. Each of the three incorporated partners is wholly owned by Myron F. Steves, Jr., Frederick B. Steves, and Teresa Steves Skinner, respectively, and each is the sole director and officer of his/her corporation.
